Heavy-duty systems
Urethane Cement Flooring in Toronto
Urethane cement is the toughest resin floor we install. At ¼″ to ⅜″ thick, it takes boiling water, steam cleaning, freezer temperatures, food acids and heavy impact that would crack or debond ordinary epoxy. It is the standard for food plants, breweries, commercial kitchens and chemical areas.
Urethane cement at a glance
Built for heat, cold, water and chemicals
The system food plants and commercial kitchens rely on. See urethane cement vs epoxy for when it is worth the premium.
Slurry systems
About 1/8 to 3/16 inch. Moderate washdown, kitchens and food packaging areas.
Trowelled mortars
About 1/4 inch and up. Heavy impact, hot washdowns, steam cleaning and processing floors.
Hot to cold
Handles thermal shock from hot water on cold slabs, from freezers to cook lines. See cold storage flooring.
Cove, slope & drains
Installed with integral cove base and sloped to drains for sanitary, washable rooms.
Why urethane cement
Built for the harshest wet and hot areas
Where epoxy fails from heat, moisture or thermal cycling, urethane cement keeps working. It bonds to damp concrete and flexes with temperature swings.
Thermal shock
Handles hot washdowns, steam cleaning, ovens and freezer doors without cracking.
Chemical & food acids
Resists lactic, citric and acetic acids, sugars, fats, blood and sanitizers.
Moisture tolerant
Can be installed over concrete with higher moisture than epoxy allows.
Slip resistant
Textured finishes that stay grippy when wet, with cove base and slopes to drains.
Where it goes
Food plants, breweries, kitchens and cold storage
We install urethane cement in processing rooms, wash bays, brewhouses, bakeries, commercial kitchens, freezers and coolers, and chemical handling areas across the GTA.
Each system is specified by thickness and texture for the room, and documented for your food safety auditor.
