Static control
ESD & Anti-Static Epoxy Flooring in Toronto
Static discharge can destroy electronics, ignite dust and solvents, and corrupt sensitive equipment. Hardbond installs conductive and static-dissipative (ESD) epoxy floors for electronics assembly, data centres, labs and hazardous areas, grounded and tested after installation.
ESD floors at a glance
Static control you can measure
An ESD floor is part of a grounding system, not just a coating. Here is what goes into one.
Conductive or dissipative
Conductive floors drain charge fastest; static-dissipative floors slow it down. The right one depends on your equipment and footwear program.
Grounding built in
A conductive primer and copper grounding points connect the floor to building ground before the topcoat goes down.
Tested at handover
Resistance is measured across the finished floor and recorded, so your quality team has the numbers on file.
Where it is used
Electronics assembly, data and server rooms, labs and pharma areas, and battery charging zones. See chemical-resistant floors.
How ESD floors work
A seamless floor that safely drains static
Conductive fibres or fillers in the coating carry charge to a grounding grid tied into the building ground, so people and equipment never build up a dangerous charge.
Conductive
Lower resistance for explosive-risk areas, solvent rooms and munitions or chemical handling.
Static dissipative
Controlled resistance for electronics assembly, server rooms and clean rooms.
Grounded & tested
Copper grounding tied into building ground, with resistance readings recorded after install.
Durable
A seamless epoxy wear surface that takes carts, foot traffic and cleaning.
Specified to your standard
Built to the resistance range you need
We confirm the resistance range your equipment or safety program requires, then select a manufacturer system rated for it. After installation we test the floor and give you the readings for your records.
[Confirm: ANSI/ESD S20.20 or customer standard, and testing method used.]

Questions
Before you call
Straight answers to what facility managers ask us most.
-
Commercial epoxy starts at $2.75 per sq ft and concrete polishing at $2.50 per sq ft, with standard surface preparation included. Final pricing depends on the system, slab condition and size of the area, and extensive repairs are quoted separately. Every quote is fixed and in writing after a free site assessment.
-
Yes. We phase large floors in sections and schedule nights and weekends so your team keeps working.
-
Both drain static, at different speeds. Conductive floors have lower resistance and suit explosive or flammable areas. Static-dissipative floors suit electronics, data centres and most labs.
-
Yes. We measure resistance after the floor cures and provide the readings so you can confirm it meets your requirement.
