Pricing guide
Concrete Polishing Cost in Toronto
Commercial concrete polishing in the GTA starts at $2.50 per square foot, with standard surface preparation included. The grind level, the sheen you want and the condition of the slab set where your floor lands. Here is what changes the price, and how to get a fixed number.
What drives the price
Why polishing quotes differ
Polished concrete starts at $2.50 per sq ft with standard prep included. These factors set where your floor lands in the $2.50 to $4.50 range.
Gloss level
A satin finish needs fewer grinding passes than a high-gloss, mirror-like floor.
Aggregate exposure
Cream finish costs least. Salt-and-pepper or full exposed aggregate takes deeper grinding.
Existing coatings
Glue, paint or old epoxy must come off first. See grinding & prep.
Joints & cracks
Filled joints and repaired cracks give a cleaner result. See joint filling and polishing.
What drives the price
Four things that set the cost of polishing
Polishing reuses the slab you already have, so most of the cost is grinding time. Each of these changes how many passes the crew needs.
Area & access
Large open floors cost less per square foot than small rooms, racking aisles or tight corners.
Sheen
Matte, satin, semi-gloss or high gloss. Higher sheen means more passes with finer diamonds.
Area & access
Larger floors cost less per square foot. Racking, equipment and tight access add crew time.
Schedule
Night, weekend and phased installs, or fast-cure products to cut downtime, change labour and material costs.
What affects the price
From $2.50 per sq ft, depending on the finish
A densified grind-and-seal finish sits at the lower end. A higher sheen, a salt-and-pepper look or full exposed aggregate cost more because they take more grinding passes. Heavily damaged slabs, extensive repairs and specialized preparation are assessed separately. For coatings, see our commercial epoxy cost guide (from $2.75 per sq ft).
