Epoxy Floor Repair & Recoating in Toronto
Worn traffic lanes, peeling patches and a dull, scratched topcoat don't always mean a new floor. Hardbond works out why the existing coating is failing, repairs the damaged areas and recoats the floor, so you get a like-new surface for far less than a full replacement.
What we look for
Read the floor before you fix it
The way a coating is failing tells us why. Learn the causes in why epoxy floors peel.
Worn traffic lanes
Topcoat worn through in busy routes: usually fixed with a screen and recoat, no removal.
Peeling at the edges
Often poor prep or contamination: affected areas are ground back and rebuilt.
Bubbles & blisters
Usually slab moisture: needs testing and moisture mitigation before a new coat.
Widespread failure
When most of the floor has let go, full removal and a new epoxy system is the better value.
Repair or replace?
Find out why it failed first
Peeling usually points to poor prep or moisture; wear-through means the system was too thin for the traffic. We diagnose the cause before quoting, so the fix lasts.
Spot repairs
Damaged and delaminated areas cut out, re-prepped and rebuilt to match the surrounding floor.
Topcoat refresh
Sound floors screened and recoated with a new urethane or epoxy topcoat to restore gloss and protection.
Full removal
When the coating has failed across the floor, we grind it off and install a properly specified new system.
Lines & markings
Safety lines and floor markings restored as part of the recoat.
Minimal downtime
Recoated over a weekend
Most recoats are done in sections or over a weekend with fast-cure topcoats, so the floor is back in service before your next shift. If the floor needs replacing, see commercial epoxy flooring and floor preparation.

Questions
Before you call
Straight answers to what facility managers ask us most.
-
Commercial epoxy starts at $2.75 per sq ft and concrete polishing at $2.50 per sq ft, with standard surface preparation included. Final pricing depends on the system, slab condition and size of the area, and extensive repairs are quoted separately. Every quote is fixed and in writing after a free site assessment.
-
Yes. We phase large floors in sections and schedule nights and weekends so your team keeps working.
-
Yes. We test the existing coating's bond first. If it is sound, we prep and recoat; if it is not, we recommend removal so the new coat does not fail along with the old one.
-
It depends on traffic. Busy warehouse lanes may need a fresh topcoat every few years, while light-traffic areas last much longer. Recoating before the base coat wears through is the cheapest way to extend the life of the floor.
