Floor care
Commercial Floor Care & Maintenance
A well-installed resin or polished concrete floor can last for many years with the right care. Here is how to look after your floor day to day, and how Hardbond keeps it performing with inspections, recoats, re-polishing and repairs across Toronto and the GTA.
Care by floor type
Each floor needs different care
The right cleaning routine adds years to a floor. Here is the short version for each system we install.
Epoxy & urethane
pH-neutral cleaner, soft scrubber pads, and walk-off mats at entries. See epoxy.
Polished concrete
Daily dust mopping and periodic burnishing bring back the shine. See polishing.
Flake & metallic
Clean like epoxy. Avoid harsh solvents and dragging steel equipment.
When to recoat
A fresh topcoat on worn lanes costs far less than a new floor. See recoating.
Day to day
Simple routines that add years
Most wear comes from grit, harsh cleaners and small damage left too long. A few habits prevent it.
Keep grit off
Sweep or dust-mop traffic lanes daily and use walk-off mats at entrances, especially in winter.
Use neutral cleaners
Clean with a pH-neutral cleaner and soft pads. Avoid acidic, bleach-based and harsh degreasing products unless your system is rated for them.
Deal with spills fast
Wipe up oil, chemicals and food spills quickly, especially on polished concrete, which can stain.
Report damage early
Chips at joints and worn lanes are cheap to fix early and expensive to fix late.
When it needs more
Inspections, recoats, re-polishing and repairs
We inspect floors, refresh worn topcoats, re-polish dull concrete, fill broken joints and repair damage, usually in sections or after hours. See epoxy repair & recoating, concrete repair, joint filling and our guides to polished concrete maintenance and how long epoxy lasts.
