Flake flooring
Flake Epoxy Flooring in Toronto
Decorative flake floors are one of the most practical finishes there is: textured, slip-resistant, forgiving of dirt and available in dozens of colour blends. Hardbond installs full-broadcast flake systems for commercial spaces and entertainment venues, and for garages and basements in homes across Toronto and the GTA.
How it is built
Four layers in a full-broadcast flake floor
A flake floor is a system, not a paint. Each layer has a job.
Ground & repaired slab
Diamond grinding opens the concrete so the coating bonds. See grinding & prep.
Base coat
A pigmented epoxy or polyaspartic base the flakes sink into.
Full flake broadcast
Vinyl chips cover the floor to refusal, which hides dirt and gives texture.
Clear topcoat
A UV-stable, chemical-resistant clear coat locks it in. Add grit for anti-slip.
Commercial & residential
One system, two very different jobs
The same flake system that handled a 45,000 sq ft entertainment venue in Scarborough is one of the most popular finishes for home garages. It suits any space that sees traffic, spills and constant cleaning.
Commercial spaces
Entertainment venues, gyms, retail, salons, offices, washrooms and back-of-house areas that need a durable, slip-resistant floor.
Garages & basements
Hides dirt and salt stains, adds grip and handles hot tires and Ontario winters. Many garages are back in use within a day or two.
Dozens of blends
Flake blends from subtle greys to bold colours, with partial or full broadcast for more or less texture.
Clear, tough topcoat
Sealed with a clear polyaspartic or urethane topcoat that resists abrasion and stays colour-stable in sunlight.
Proven at scale
From a two-car garage to a 45,000 sq ft venue
Every flake floor starts with a diamond-ground, repaired slab so the system bonds and does not peel. See our recreation venue flooring, residential floors and metallic epoxy for other decorative options.
