Slip resistance
Anti-Slip Flooring in Toronto
Slips and falls are among the most common workplace injuries, and the floor is usually part of the cause. Hardbond installs slip-resistant epoxy, urethane cement and flake floors for kitchens, food plants, washrooms, ramps, entrances and walkways across Toronto and the GTA, with the texture matched to how wet or greasy each area gets.
Choosing the texture
Matching grip to the space
Too little texture and people slip. Too much and the floor is hard to clean. We set the grit for how each area is used.
Wet production areas
Coarse aggregate for washdown floors in food plants and kitchens.
Ramps & loading docks
Heavy grit where water, snow and forklifts meet. See cold storage.
Washrooms & pool decks
Fine texture that is grippy barefoot and easy to clean.
How it works
Texture where people walk, smooth where they do not
Slip resistance comes from aggregate built into the floor or topcoat. More texture means more grip, but harder cleaning, so we set it zone by zone.
Aggregate broadcast
Quartz or aluminum oxide broadcast into the system for wet, greasy and high-risk areas.
Textured topcoats
Fine anti-slip additives in the topcoat for lobbies, showrooms and dry walkways.
Flake systems
Naturally textured flake floors for washrooms, change rooms, garages and venues.
Marked walkways
Pedestrian lanes and hazard zones with line striping and safety marking.
Where it matters most
Kitchens, food plants, ramps and entrances
Recent work includes anti-slip pedestrian flooring for a 60,000 sq ft karting venue in St. Catharines. See commercial kitchens, food-grade flooring, urethane cement and parking ramps and decks.

Questions
Before you call
Straight answers to what facility managers ask us most.
-
Commercial epoxy starts at $2.75 per sq ft and concrete polishing at $2.50 per sq ft, with standard surface preparation included. Final pricing depends on the system, slab condition and size of the area, and extensive repairs are quoted separately. Every quote is fixed and in writing after a free site assessment.
-
Yes. We phase large floors in sections and schedule nights and weekends so your team keeps working.
-
Often, yes. An existing coated floor can usually be prepared and recoated with a textured topcoat, and polished concrete can be treated or coated depending on the area.
-
More texture takes slightly more effort to clean, so we use heavier texture only where it is needed and a finer finish elsewhere.
-
Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, including Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham and Oakville. Larger projects elsewhere in Ontario are quoted case by case.
